WELFARE BENEFITS ADVISOR

Chase de Vere are currently recruiting for a Welfare Benefits Advisor.

You will provide advice to clients, professional connections and Chase De Vere staff within the welfare benefits system. Some of your day to day responsibilities include writing required reports, conducting file reviews, assessing benefit entitlements and providing representation at tribunals.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Motivated to provide service and high-quality advice to vulnerable clients of Chase De Vere.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Must be prepared to work additional hours on occasion, according to the needs of the business.
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to produce quality written advice.
  • Highly articulate with the ability to communicate with clients, staff at all levels, and professional introducers of business.
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system, welfare rights and entitlements, application processes and eligibility criteria.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with clients who have been awarded personal injury damages and have been appointed a Deputy or are beneficiaries of a Personal Injury Trust.
  • Willing to continuously undergo training with regards to updates and changes in legislation.
  • Can work independently manage and prioritise a varied and complex caseload, ensuring deadlines are adhered to in accordance with service standards.

WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE

  • Undertaking fact finding discussions with clients or their professional representatives.
  • Interpreting and explaining legislation, official letters or benefits information for clients.
  • Providing written advice regarding benefits entitlements to people who have suffered personal injury. Liaising closely with solicitors introducing clients to Chase De Vere.
  • Helping clients complete claim forms or prepare appeals. Liaising with local benefits agencies/job centers.
  • Representing clients at tribunals.
  • Ensuring knowledge regarding benefits and legislation is kept up to date.
  • Taking responsibility for recording accurately all client contact on a back-office system. Working closely with the personal injury trust administrator.
  • Training financial advisers regarding changes in the benefits system.
  • Providing educational seminars to introducers of business to Chase De Vere.
