Spreading some Christmas cheer in Scotland

13 December 2022

Well done to Catriona Smith, Independent Financial Adviser based from our Glasgow office, and Chantelle Ferguson, Private Client Administrator in our Brechin office, who are both spreading Christmas cheer to help some of those who may be struggling during the festive season.

Each year, in conjunction with her role as a regional co-ordinator for the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA), Catriona organises Christmas gifts for elderly people through Age Scotland.

With the help of her son Scott, Catriona has co-ordinated and wrapped 92 gift bags. Each gift has a shopper bag, blanket, shortbread, hand wash and body wash. Catriona ensures that each item is individually wrapped, which is especially important because in some instances this might be the only Christmas presents which an elderly person receives.

Meanwhile, Chantelle has arranged for our Brechin office to be used a donation point for the Angus Toy Appeal.

This Appeal is run by volunteers who do regular fundraising events throughout the year to raise money which is used to buy gifts for less fortunate children across Angus, so that all local children have something to open on Christmas morning.

The team email a referral form to schools, health visitors, social workers, and many professional agencies. The agencies then nominate the children and families who they feel would appreciate the support. They then fill black bags with gifts and deliver them to help the children and their families to have a nicer Christmas.

This is great work. Well done Catriona and Chantelle.
