On Saturday 17 May, around 50 Chase de Vere colleagues took part in our annual charity walk, raising valuable funds for the MND Association. This is a wonderful charity, and one which is close to the hearts of quite a few of us at Chase de Vere.
This year’s challenge took us to the stunning Lake District, where colleagues tackled either a 21-mile route from Skelwith Bridge to Keswick or a more demanding 27-mile trek from Coniston to Keswick, both following the iconic Cumbria Way.
While the scenery was breathtaking, the walk was no easy feat. The combination of hot weather and rugged terrain tested everyone’s endurance. One of the most formidable parts of the journey was Stake Pass, a steep and rocky mountain pass between Dungeon Ghyll and Borrowdale, known as one of the toughest sections of the Cumbria Way. For many, the long, stony descent proved just as challenging as the climb.
Despite the blisters and sore feet, the spirit of our colleagues shone through. Most walkers made it to Keswick, and together we raised around £3,500 for the MND Association—an amount that Chase de Vere has agreed to match, doubling the total contribution.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful for the support that helps us make a difference.
